Ability to show decision loops in a process on the Map

As most Business Process in the world are not just straight linear processes and can have steps that based on decisions or choices made that the process could loop back to an activity that has already occurred in the process or actually skip steps forward. Yes you can make these comments on activities in the form of notes but at a high level if you just look at the mapping of the process you would never see that.

Some decisions are genuinely 50:50 rather than 80:20, so the suggestion we list one of the alternatives as an exception in the notes is to obscure an important consideration.

We definitely need this option, sometimes is confusing to have an output after a decision, when you need a loop back or forward, and for the end user creates confusion, cause they might think the process is finished in that stage and it is not. At least to have a restriction of max 3 loops, so the process is not to complex.

This is a critical point for our business to map the 'as is' state. Any plans to roll this out soon?

Totally agree with the below. It is very common that a process in business will loop back if a criteria is not met. We have it a lot in our business. As we are trying to push this platform out across the rest of our business, the inability to do this and the inflexibility of decisions could impede the take up.

Thanks for the feedback. We have no plans to implement loops at this time. As you say these can be captured in the process as Notes and will overall provide a simpler process. In the case of a more complex process it could be split into smaller simpler linked processes.

For now we'll leave this open for voting to gauge interest from other clients.

It would be great to have the ability for decision loops to "skip" forward to activities later on for example if the following process flow could be captured in the map
If your process was Perform backgrounds check for new employees.
    1. Call references
    2. Is your employee a citizen? If Yes skip to step 5. If no Go to step 3.
    3. Confirm eligibiltiy work work in the country
    4. Confirm Visa requirements
    5. Perform police check

We really need loops - most of our processes aren't optimised/improved yet, and loops capture the "as is" state. Failing that, a conditional activity could be useful.

I agree that the decision diamonds looping within an iterative process (eg; customer order entry/quoting, inventory receiving, manufacturing process to complete order, etc.) are extremely critical to support our audit, training, and OpX opportunity identification. Other than that business critical need, the rest of the tool is living up to expectations (baring few other recommendations on reporting, search, etc.)

I agree that this would be a really handy function to have. Alternatively, it would be good to have a conditional activity (similar to a conditional process) where you can have a 2 way arrow linking to another activity.

I'd like to see this feature provided in the near future. We have a number of processes that may loop back to a previous activity given the decisions made in an activity 3 "activities" away. It's just not descriptive enough in a visual representation of a process to see three boxes and then have users read through text to understand what happens if something is rejected by an activity in another swim lane. The flow diagram makes no sense at all.

    I vote for this feature.

Even if we capture the information in NOTEs, the user needs to go to a specific activity and look for the information. Visual representation is important.

I would also suggest having a conditional activity feature as we have for a conditional process.

Agreed this would be very useful, especially to be able to skip activities where not needed and go directly to ones further along in the process. Having to switch between many different processes and hunt for notes is not user friendly especially when trying to encourage people without a lot of time to use it.

This would be so helpful to visually represent which steps get skipped for a condition. Current method of using notes isn't helping the end users/consumers of the process. Particularly as our end users are not mature in navigating processes

This feature is not planned for in our near term roadmap at this stage, however we'll continue to monitor interest, and update the status of this idea as our plans change.

I agree that this is important and I have voted for your request / suggestion. I have submitted a request / suggestion as well which summarizes different suggestion for improvements of the decision functionality so that we can capture all votes for improvements in regards to decision in one request / suggestion and hopefully get a higher number of votes that way to improve the changes that these improvements gets implemented.

therefore, please vote for my request / suggestion as well: https://nintex.uservoice.com/forums/919189-7-nintex-promapp/suggestions/45543496-increase-flexibility-of-what-you-can-do-with-decis

Thank you very much in advance.
