In the most recent Proces Manager Update 4.11.19, the team have removed the ability to edit documents directly within search results.
This has massively reduced the ease of use of the platform, as Document editors and document owners now need to go to All Documents > Search for the document > Edit, when previously they could just do it from the search screen.
There does not seem to be any reason behind this change outside of aesthetics, but it has made it much more difficult for document owners and editors to administer their documents. This is leading to significant complaints from stakeholders within my organisation.
Hi all! We're reviewing this internally and wanted to get some input on why editing of document properties directly in the search result is so requested compared to the ability to edit properties on any other type of record (processes, groups, etc). We recognize the time saving of finding the document via global search vs. going into the Documents area and then searching there, but would providing a link to access to the document directly in the Documents area from the search result (vs. just showing or downloading the document) solve the need here?
Chris or @Guest would love to get your input here given it was one of your favorite features.
This was one of the best features of the platform
Having the search edit feature was very helpful and useful.
I find search feature helpful as well at desperate times.
The search edit feature was my favourite of the system and having it removed has the doubled the time required to make edits on the platform.
